Why? Why Now?

America is unique. Unlike most other nations, the United States defines itself by its ideals, not by an ethnicity or a common language but common ideals. The spirit of 1776 embodies what it means to be an American; it was true and remains true today: anyone can become a United States citizen. Our founders built our country through relentless reflection and refinement. The promise of our nation requires a continual rebirth and renewal. As citizens, it is our duty to continue this work and lay the groundwork for the next generation.

Today, grave challenges—COVID-19, social unrest, and economic ruin— is ravaging America. While they present a significant battle, but they also present us with an opportunity. In past crises, America found the will to not merely restore the foundations of our republic, but to build them stronger and higher.

We have always been a country viewed by the rest of the world as the greatest nation on the planet. Unfortunately, given the current state of our union with respect to the pandemic, race relations and economic conditions, we believe that it’s time to make a commitment as a people to rebuild our nation.

We need to stand together and rebuild the United States of America, a united nation, to regain its status as the greatest in the world.
